About Voyten Electric & Electronics

Voyten Electric was founded in 1953 remanufacturing coal mining equipment and electrical motors in Belle Vernon, Pa. In 1973, we incorporated and added to our name becoming Voyten Electric & Electronics Inc. This was done to reflect the industry changing effects of the development of the high current silicon diode and the SCR silicon controlled rectifier.

Voyten Electric & Electronics Inc. built direct current variable speed drives and constant voltage direct current rectifiers to replace old DC motor generator and loop controls for DC applications. The cost and availability of parts adversely affected the delivery of completed units, which caused us to use remanufactured parts to keep our cost down and meet our deliveries.

As we remanufactured more types of equipment, the Original Equipment Manufacturers discontinued or began to obsolete more and more products. As time passed, we built less rectifiers and variable speed SCR drives and did more electrical equipment remanufacturing.

Today, we still build rectifiers, but our focus is maintaining the established Electrical Equipment installed base. There are some in this industry that believe the existing electrical equipment should be periodically replaced. We acknowledge there is a time to replace your equipment, but it is not in the interest of the end user to allow the OEM the ability to dictate those market conditions.
